Away from home (Sweden 02)

Sometimes you feel alone, sometimes you are so far away from home that you forget how it is. Really? Of course not. Nobody forgets how home looks like, nobody forgets how it feels to sit down on your sofa, smell the food made by your mom or watch TV with your brother. Nobody forgets any of these little things of life, which are, indeed, the things that turn a life into YOUR life.

When you are far away from home you discover other kind of things which make your life even more interesting, you discover snow all the time, the green grass, the cold, the rain, the people, different languages, etc. When you are away from home you discover that there are a lot of many things that turn your life into a new adventure. Of course you miss home, but you learn to transform your surroundings into your home.

Three weeks away from home are enough to realise that the world you knew before was just a little piece of the real world. The world you knew is just a drop in an ocean. You know new people, and you discover yourself in so many countries at the same time that you don’t know where you are. I am not just in Sweden, I am in all the countries of those who I have met here. I am travelling from one place to another just in one conversation.

Thank you my life for giving me this opportunity; thank you my life for showing me how big the world is; thank you my life for teaching me a language in which I can communicate with so many people; thank you my life for giving me the gift of using the words.
